Hello, young Padawan
Carrots, everyone knows, make your buttocks pink; at least if you’re French, you know the joke. Enough to cheer up those who are grieving their summer tan. Today, we are going for a recipe for people in a hurry or those who have a day when they don’t feel like cooking but still want to treat themselves.
Five minutes flat, then the oven works for 30 minutes, and there you have a great vegetable dish to garnish. So, on your marks, get set, and let’s go.
Baked carrots, Chill style.
For 2 servings
4 medium-sized carrots
1/3 block of feta cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
1 nice sprig of rosemary
2 unpeeled garlic cloves
Salt, Madagascar pepper
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 356°F
Wash and peel the carrots, then cut them into slices (too thin, they will dry out; too thick, they will take a very long time to cook. Carrots are technical, ed).
In a bowl, pour the carrots, add the olive oil, detach the leaves from the rosemary stem, and add them to the preparation; salt, pepper, and crumble the feta.
Stir everything with a spoon, lifting the carrots from bottom to top to be delicate and not break them, then pour the preparation into an ovenproof dish.
Add the two unpeeled garlic cloves between the carrots, add a little water (the equivalent of 2 or 3 tablespoons max), and bake for 30-35 min, until the carrots are cooked.
Presentation
When the carrots are cooked, remove the dish from the oven, remove the two cloves of garlic and peel them without burning yourself, then put them back in the dish, in a corner without carrots, and crush them with a fork, taking care not to crush any carrot slices. Spread the garlic puree obtained throughout the dish.
This cute vegetable dish goes wonderfully with smoked tofu, or a chicken escalope just seared in the pan with paprika, or a white fish in foil with olive oil, salt and pepper and a rosemary sprig placed on top, which you could have put in your oven, on the rack, next to the carrots, for about twenty minutes of cooking at the same temperature.
You can accompany it all with a good white Burgundy, which will enchant the sweetness of the carrots and the character of the rosemary and feta.
Have a great weekend, and see you next week for new adventures!
