Hello, young Padawan
Today, we’re whipping up a simple yet delightful fall snack. With just five minutes and a small saucepan, you’ll be ready to go.
This little snack will almost give you the feeling of eating an apple pie, minus the hour of preparation and cooking. A sort of “air-apple-pie”, like those who play air guitar, if I may.
And because we said quick recipe, enough chatter, let’s go!
Half-cooked apple cubes, cinnamon and vanilla, à la chill.
For one serving.
1 apple
2 pinches of Madagascar vanilla powder
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp of water
1/2 tsp of butter
1 pinch of salt
1 handful of walnuts
Recipe
Peel and cut the apple into mini cubes, or like me, into small sticks, after removing the stalks and seeds using a Parisienne apple scoop or a teaspoon.
In a hot saucepan over medium heat, place the butter, then the apple pieces, the water, add the spices, namely vanilla, cinnamon, and salt, and cook over medium heat, stirring regularly, for five minutes.
The apples should be hot, partially cooked, and smell like apple pie. Keep warm.
Presentation
In your most beautiful ramekins or small bowls, pour the apples, and add on top a handful of walnuts roughly crushed by hand. The walnuts, in addition to marrying divinely with the apples in terms of taste, will ensure to avoid a spike in blood sugar and the cravings that would naturally return afterwards. This simple recipe is not just delicious, but also a powerful tool in your journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
You can accompany this pretty snack with an excellent black tea or a vanilla rooibos for the hydration and pleasure of this perfect blend of flavors.
I wish you a beautiful day and a good weekend, and see you next Friday for new adventures.
