Hello, young Padawan
Today, we will combine a skincare and makeup article to help us take care of ourselves as winter comes to an end, a time when our complexions often look their worst and our radiance fades.
Get ready for a focus on comfort, bounce, lovely colors, and cheerfulness. Let’s get started!
Skincare
Regarding hydration, we haven’t found anything better than hyaluronic acid. Because I didn’t want to bore you again and again with my eternal favorite, the ELMW serum from Green Keratin that I’ve talked to you about so often, especially here, here and there, I thought that an absolutely brilliant mask, what am I saying, wonderful, would be welcome. The N.M.F Aquaring from Mediheal is a Korean sheet mask, meaning a soaked fabric mask to leave on for 15-20 minutes or more, and then, all that’s left to do is massage until the ingredients are completely absorbed. This mask is, by far, the most effective I’ve tried. It literally gives you a facelift and leaves your skin hydrated, plump, and radiant.
Two essential little serums for this winter from Typology, a radiance serum with vitamin C to bring a little joy to dull skin in winter and one with polyglutamic acid and red algae extract for a plumping and smoothing effect. In addition, this serum leaves a protective film to retain hydration, which is not a luxury on icy days.
The self-tanning drops from Clémence and Vivien are a great idea to cheat in this period of gray complexion. With a few drops on clean skin before applying evening skincare, you get a light tan the following day, in healthy glow mode, without unsightly marks. I apply it once or twice a week, and I no longer look like a ghost!
Makeup
Cool tones are often the most flattering for mid-winter complexions, and that’s a good thing because it’s the fashion for 2025, lol.
Want to have the cheeks of a five-year-old who played outside all morning in the cold, making snowmen? I have what you need: the Dior Backstage blush in pink, a really cool pink that naturally enhances the cheekbones and transforms you into a Russian doll or a woodland devil; it’s up to you to choose according to your preferences!
For the eyes, I have two little favorites. Glossier’s Lidstar eyeshadow, which is applied in a jiffy, hop with your finger, maybe a little blending to refine the contours, and there you are in a minute flat, here in Herb, which is a cool, smoky green, magnificent. I recently fell in love with the Fathoms Deep powder eyeshadow from M.A.C., which is a superb blue-grey that can be applied either with a brush in a halo, for a light, transparent veil, or with your finger in a smoky, smoky eye for going out. I also love the smoky mauve shade that will perfectly complement green eyes.
For the final touch, all in hydration and radiance, here is the tinted lip oil from Typology. I have it in a plum purple shade, another cool tone to compliment the rest of the makeup, in all subtlety. This lip oil is, above all, a treatment. Vitamin E, jojoba oil, and squalane provide the nutrition, comfort, and suppleness that lips sorely need in winter; the veil of color is the little bonus, healthy glow effect.
That’s it for today! With fresh skin, a radiant and plump complexion, and beautiful colors on the eyes, cheeks, and lips, what more could we ask for? As for the heat, everyone has their turn. Let those who love winter fully enjoy their favorite season—snow, skiing, the lovely icy weather, walks on frozen paths, cozy hats, and warm tea!
Wishing you a great weekend! We’ll meet again next Friday, as usual.
