Hello, young Padawan
Because one-pot recipes are a hit in this blog, here’s a new one so you can have even more choices. They’re also fun to make and simple to create.
As a reminder, a one-pot recipe means cooking your entire dish in the same pot, reducing dishwashing, saving time, and allowing beginners to join us in simplicity. Indeed, there are recipes for everyone so we can all find our way. Those who are more technically inclined can check out here, there, or soon in a future article, but I didn’t tell you anything.
So, here we go with today’s delightful little recipe, in a joyful and good mood for this spring that has firmly settled in.
The creamy chicken, à la Chill.
For 3 servings
3 chicken breasts (fresh or thawed)
20 oz of sliced carrots, fresh or frozen
1/3 cup of raw basmati rice
1 tsp of clarified butter (recipe here)
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup of 30% single cream
3 sprigs of thyme
1 bay leaf
3 cloves of garlic
1 onion
1/2 tsp vegetable stock in 2 cups of water
Salt
Madagascar pepper
Recipe
Finely slice the onion, cut the chicken breasts into small cubes, and prepare the garlic cloves for the garlic press (or chop the cloves with a knife).
In a wok (with a lid) or a Dutch oven over high heat, add the butter, olive oil, and the chicken breast pieces. Brown them on all sides for 3 to 4 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium-high, add the onion and garlic, puréed with the garlic press. Stir well, then reduce the heat to medium and let brown for another 3 to 4 minutes.
Add the carrots, thyme, bay leaf, vegetable stock, season with salt and pepper if needed, cover, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Add the rice and continue cooking uncovered for about 7 minutes (follow the cooking time on your package) over medium heat.
Once the rice is cooked, remove from the heat, pour in the cream, and stir gently.
Presentation
In your most beautiful soup or pasta dishes, place a few ladles of this wonderful, deliciously fragrant one-pot wine.
All that’s left is to pair it with a good white Burgundy of your choice. You can also add a cute bowl of salad to accompany this recipe if you didn’t plan on having a starter; that way, you have a complete meal.
All that’s left is to wish you a wonderful appetite and see you next Friday for new adventures.
