Hello young Padawan
The beautiful days are here, of course, but the heat fell on our heads like pigeon shit on leaving the hairdresser: we were not ready for it, and neither were our bodies. You know me, and you read the title of this article; I never like to put one word above the other, let alone exaggerate, lol.
So here we will make a little easy and effective recipe for infused water that may make you look back to your 20s if you are 22 – why not – but for sure will keep your legs light even in the middle of a heatwave!
So let’s go for a lemon-ginger infused water with a hint of chili pepper. It tastes delicious, and your blood circulation will be delighted. If you want some info on the benefits of ginger, you can click here, and on the red pepper, you can go see here.
Light legs infused water
1 organic lemon
1 organic lime
the thickness of one to two fingers of organic ginger, according to your preferences
2 liters (or 68 fl oz) of filtered water
a pinch of fresh red chili pepper, or a pinch of red pepper powder
Optional: a few ice cubes.
RECIPE
Wash the lemons, and remove the zest and juice from the lime. Cut the lemon into eight half-moons lengthwise. Cut the ginger into thin rounds – ginger geeks will grate a few extra crumbs.
Pour the filtered water into a large carafe, add the lime juice and the zest, the lemon wedges, the ginger, and the pinch of red pepper minced beforehand (or the pinch of powdered red pepper). Stir and leave to infuse in the fridge overnight – a minimum of 6 hours.
Presentation
Using a fine tea strainer or a coffee filter, pour your infused water into your prettiest glasses or your water bottle for the office. Add a few ice cubes for an “aperitif” effect.
Can be stored refrigerated for 24 hours.
With this recipe, you will be able to dance until the end of the night; or take the bus home in a Mumbai-like atmosphere, except that instead of the Taj Mahal, you will see your stop. It’s not the same delight on the eyes, but your clothes will be just as soaked, guaranteed!
Don’t forget that in summer, and whether there are more candles than cake on your birthday, or vice versa, the watchword is: drink plenty of water, infused or not.
