“It is not rebels who create the world’s problems, but the world’s problems create rebels. Rebellion is life, submission is death.”
Ricardo Flores Magon.
Hello, young Padawan
Not everyone can be a rebel, a punk, or an anarchist. The spirit of contradiction is not given to everyone, and few are those who express their opinions loudly.
If you doubted it, here is proof that your faithful servant is of this indomitable breed: I smear myself with monoi while the swimsuits are back in their drawer, and we are 88 days before Christmas. Yes, I know. Information like that, point blank, is a bit intense, as information. That is why I have prepared this little article for you so that you, too, if you wish, can join the resistance.
Let’s go.
Monoï in perfume
Yes, it’s not because we prefer skiing to hot sand that we can’t like summer scents, even if monoï and I have had a long falling out. Too sweet sent; also, I’m not too fond of oils that are too sticky on the skin in summer when you’re already sweating again after getting out of the shower; in short, I was content with my divine orange blossom and left those beach scents to the aficionados.
And then, one day, I stumbled upon a unique twist to the monoï perfume by Tiamà. This was no ordinary monoï. It was more botanical than sweet, more subtle than strong. Tiamà had managed to create a real floral perfume, but also botanical, without the overpowering sweetness that I had always disliked in commercial monoï. I was drawn to the solid perfume (photo, ed), but there is also the classic bottled perfume for those who prefer a traditional touch.
Another perfume that makes you think of a beach day is the Beach Walk from the Replica range by Maison Margiela, which I already told you about here. It is a real summery floral perfume that reconciles with all the conventional summer scents, perfect for lovers of summer holidays or for rebels, lol.
Monoï in care
Why not indulge in a soap that smells like monoi and leaves your skin soft and supple, even in the chilly fall weather? Les Petits Prodiges has made this dream a reality with their organic soap. Long live rebellion and leave a scent of summer during autumn.
And then, after a good scrub, you have to moisturize, of course, but if there are glitters, it’s even better! This Energie Fruit tinted milk leaves the skin nourished, plump, and well moisturized, but it also has pretty fine glitters on it. And yes, of course—it smells like monoi—that’s the subject of today’s post!
Here is the little rebellious article of the day. I am sure that it still gives you goosebumps, but what can you do? It is the fruit of years and years of gentle madness! More seriously, we will meet again next week for a major article concerning our food, so stay tuned!
